Gerald Foley
Class Year

Prior to entering Pope St. John XXIII, Gerry enjoyed a 24-year career at the New York City Mayor’s Office managing alternative to incarceration programs, preceded by 9 years at the Correction Department as a counselor, manager, and director of work release programs.

In 1983, I was at Notre Dame and began formation with the Holy Cross Fathers, after which I left to test whether I was instead called to secular life. God’s call to priesthood endured. I learned of this Seminary through my pastor. Several visits assured me that here I would be part of a supportive, vibrant community. It has been said that God draws straight with crooked lines. The Lord has graced what might seem a circuitous life’s journey in fulfilling His will. I joyfully embrace His call to serve Him as a priest.”
