Oath of Fidelity and Profession of Faith

On Tuesday, April 12th, six seminarians took the solemn Oath of Fidelity and made Profession of Catholic Faith which was presided over by Pope St. John XXIII Rector, the Very Rev. William B. Palardy.

The faithful who are called to exercise an office in the name of the church are required to make the profession of faith according to this formula approved by the Apostolic See.  The ceremony is a necessary step prior to ordination to the Transitional Diaconate, as it documents the seminarian's willingness to uphold the teachings of the Catholic Church in the ministry he exercises.

Making the Oath and Profession was Douglas Barrett (Archdiocese of St. John's), John Cronin (Diocese of Albany), Mark Brantley (Diocese of Dodge City), Carlos Gomez (Diocese of Des Moines), David Green (Diocese of Pittsburgh) and Dan Olvera (Diocese of Columbus).

We ask for your continued prayers for all of our seminarians and especially these men who eagerly anticipate their ordinations in the coming months.
