The New Formation Year Begins with a Mass of the Holy Spirit

Mass of the Holy Spirit 2021

On Thursday, September 2, Cardinal Seán Patrick O’Malley, Archbishop of Boston, celebrated a Mass of the Holy Spirit with the Pope St. John XXIII National Seminary community. This Mass takes place each year and seeks God’s blessings on the community as it begins a new year of forming men studying for priesthood. It is always a joyful visit from the Cardinal and brings an energy that inspires us all to be focused and intentional in the work performed in support of the seminarians.

This year, the Mass also included the installation of two new full-time faculty members of the Seminary. We welcome Rev. Msgr. Robert Oliver, BH and Fr. Scott Surrency, O.F.M., Cap. and look forward to their many contributions in forming seminarians and encouraging older men to answer God’s call to serve Him and His Church.

The year has begun and is in full swing! Please pray for the seminarians, the faculty, and the staff for a fruitful formation year. And know that we pray for you.
